SUPPORTING SCHOOLS IN RWANDA

One of our weekday mass attendees is undertaking a project in Rwanda supporting a school in need for further details go to

On the 20th July I will travelling to Kigali, Rwanda to offer much needed support to the most disadvantaged children and families who live there. This will be my 3rd time to travel to Africa. I volunteered in Kenya in 2010 and South Africa in 2018-2019. I will be travelling as a teacher and there are many needs that have been identified by my contact which I have listed below:

· Summer camps for children. There are some camps that will run in Kigali and in a rural area. I hope to buy Maths, Literacy, Gardening, Art and Crafts, Musical and Sports resources and other supplies as necessary to help supplement the teaching and learning at these camps.

· Teaching at the camps. I hope to be able to teach English, Maths and various other subjects at these camps. I also hope to train and work with local volunteers to make these camps more sustainable in the future and improve my own teaching methodologies.

· School fees for poor families. There is no public funded schools in Rwanda and everyone must pay for their own schools fees. For some families this is not possible and your donation will help the poorest of families in this regard. Education is a lifeline for many of them.

Anne will speak at Mass this weekend and support her go to:
