We are privileged to walk alongside you—whether welcoming new life into the Church through Baptism, guiding young people and their families toward First Holy Communion and Confirmation, offering healing and renewal through Reconciliation and the Anointing of the Sick, or blessing couples as they begin married life together.
Rooted in the warmth of the Dublin Docklands and in close communion with our neighbouring parishes, City Quay Church offers a welcoming space for prayer, worship, and the enduring grace of the Sacraments.
At the Immaculate Heart of Mary, City Quay, the Sacraments form the heartbeat of our spiritual life and parish community.

The Sacrament of Penance is not unlike “a father with a son who thinks he’s big, who believes he’s grown up, but instead is really just halfway there. The Lord knows that we are all halfway there and many times we need this, to hear this word: ‘Come, don’t be frightened, come. There is forgiveness.’ And this encourages us to go to the Lord with an open heart. It is the Father who awaits us.”
Pope Francis (Morning Mass February 27, 2018)
The Sacrament of Penance is available on Sunday morning from 11.00am.

“Today, there are those who say that marriage is out of fashion. Is it out of fashion? In a culture of relativism and the ephemeral, many preach the importance of ‘enjoying’ the moment. They say that it is not worth making a life-long commitment, making a definitive decision, ‘forever’, because we do not know what tomorrow will bring. I ask you, instead, to be revolutionaries, I ask you to swim against the tide; yes, I am asking you to rebel against this culture that sees everything as temporary and that ultimately believes you are incapable of responsibility, that believes you are incapable of true love. I have confidence in you and I pray for you.”
Pope Francis (Address to World Youth Day volunteers, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, July 28th, 2013)
Please make an appointment to meet the priest to arrange your wedding to discuss it. Even before you contact a wedding coordinator this is a good thing to do. Marriage in the Church is sacred and blessed moment and it only requires two people who love one another. Much of what has become associated with ‘a wedding’ is unnecessary and overly expensive. Often people feel they can’t get married because they can’t afford it – it doesn’t have to be this way – so please talk to us before you start your preparations.
There are a number of important elements in the Marriage Preparation:
Civil Registration – This is the duty of the couple to inform the Civil Authorities of their intention to marry when you live in Ireland or abroad.
Church Registration – The couple have to meet with the local priest (regardless of where the wedding takes place) in the parish they are domicile to prepare the necessary paper work for the ceremony.
Ceremony and Marriage – The more preparation the couple make the greater the impact on them and those who gather with them. This aspect of the marriage is supported by a Pre – Marriage Course, choice of readings and vows and meetings with the celebrant.
Marriage Ceremony – Toa void disappointment please book the Church in good time.
(Over the next few months we will develop links to some of the supports services for Marriage registration and Preparation)

It is Jesus who comes to bring comfort, to give strength, to give hope and help, also to forgive sins and this is very beautiful.” “Do not think this is taboo” to call the priest over, he said, “because it is always beautiful knowing that in moments of pain and sickness we are not alone.” “The priest and those who are present during the anointing of the sick, in fact, represent the whole Christian community, who, as one body with Jesus, embrace the person who is suffering and his or her family members,”
Pope Francis (February 26, 2014 General Audience)
This Sacrament will be occasionally celebrated at Mass during the year. If a person wishes to receive the Sacrament prior to a hospital visit or for some other personal reason please contact the priest to make an appointment. Where a person is sick at home or housebound please ask a neighbour to make representation on your behalf to arrange a visit. This is the preferred method as it protects against impersonation. The neighbour will let the person know when to expect the priest to call by.

The priest, the bishop, the deacon must shepherd the Lord’s flock with love. It is useless if it is not done with love. And in this sense, the ministers who are chosen and consecrated for this service extend Jesus’ presence in time, if they do so by the power of the Holy Spirit, in God’s name and with love.”
Pope Francis (General Audience March 26, 2014)
For those who wish to give their life fully in the service of the Gospel please arrange a meeting with Fr. Alan who will refer you on t the appropriate person.
